I haven’t blogged about my recent holiday. Camping in north New South Wales national parks by the sea, walking up mountains and in rainforests.
Then staying with a friend in that horrific giant parking and retail mall known as the Sunshine Coast.
But I just wondered if anyone else knew what Air New Zealand call their enhanced “economy” class on international flights?
“Pacific” class is the appropriate term, apparently.
Just imagine the outcry if it was called “Europe” class. The invisibility of this – coding the cheaper flights with region code associated with people – does not work quite so well if we substitute in the dominant race/culture.
In fact, it begins to sound awfully like the language of the holocaust. A little, then, like racism.
